Mental health, for most people, is something that fluctuates throughout their life, in fact 1 in 6 people in England report experiencing a common mental health problem, such as anxiety and depression in any given week. People may often be scared or reluctant to talk about any mental health problems they may be having.
It is important that those experiencing mental ill health know they can talk about it and receive help if they need it. If you’re feeling stressed, anxious or depressed, or just want to feel happier, we’re here to help. Most of these can be managed without first speaking to a GP because support and counselling are all that is often needed to help you through this difficult period. In more severe or persistent cases medication from your GP may be required however.
There are a variety of materials available and local organisations offering help who are best placed and have the expertise to support you. For information on services click on Mental Health Services
