About the surgery

Serving you

Our dedicated team are here to treat those minor ailments that occur as well as providing specialist management of long-term conditions and clinics covering a wide range of healthcare issues. The technology also means you can now do a lot of things from the comfort of your home such as order a repeat prescription or cancel an appointment.

Partners in care

Once registered, patients and healthcare professionals work together to ensure the most appropriate care is provided. This partnership philosophy extends even further and our active patient group exists to make sure that patient needs and the practice offering are always heading in the same direction.

Access

The building was completed August 2012 and complies with most recent disability access requirements.

Training surgery

We are proud to be an established GP training surgery, helping qualified doctors known as registrars complete the final stages of their GP training. We believe that achieving and maintaining training surgery status enhances the quality of the medical care that we provide at the surgery.

Dr. Neha Mugerwa and Dr. Soul Mugerwa both have a keen interest in training and education.  Junior doctors and GPs in training make up an increasing number of doctors in primary care nationally as well as her at Church Road.  They usually stay on placement  with us for around 12 months.  When you make your appointment to see a GP you may be booked with one of our registrar doctors, these doctors are well supported by Dr. Neha Mugerwa and Dr. Soul Mugerwa.  Please do not be alarmed if a training doctor asks for advice from a senior GP during your consultation, we are committed to providing the best clinical care possible to our patients.  As well as our partners you may see the following doctors at Church Road:

  • GP Specialist Trainees (Registrars) – these are doctors undergoing specialist training to become a GP. They are fully qualified doctors who have worked for several years in hospital specialities before starting specialist training to be a GP. GP ST1 doctors are in their first years of specialist GP training, GP ST2 are in year 2 and GP ST3 are in their final year of training to become a GP. They always have access to support from a fully qualified GP.
  • Student doctor – A student training to become a doctor before they have qualified. You will also be seen by a qualified GP if you see a student doctor
